NFDC and LTM Launch CinemAI Hackathon at MIFF 2026 with 180+ Participants

The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and LTM have launched the CinemAI Hackathon, a 48-hour AI filmmaking challenge at the Mumbai International Film Festival. Over 180 filmmakers, storytellers, technologists and content creators have registered for the event, which explores the intersection of cinema and artificial intelligence.
Participants are tasked with creating short films between 90 and 120 seconds under the theme "Mumbai Through a Thousand Eyes," using AI-powered tools across various filmmaking stages. The challenge encourages diverse interpretations of the city shaped by memory, imagination and lived experiences.
A jury screening on June 18 will shortlist the top 10 films, which will be displayed during a public screening at MIFF on June 20. The winning team will receive ₹1.5 lakh, runners-up ₹1 lakh, and the remaining eight shortlisted teams will receive certificates.
