Panvel To Launch Two Free 50-Bed Dialysis Centres With 200-Patient Daily Capacity

The Panvel Municipal Corporation is developing two 25-bed free dialysis centres in Kharghar and New Panvel to provide treatment for up to 200 patients daily. The facilities, located in Sector 36, Kharghar and Sector 6, New Panvel, will be equipped with ICU-level facilities and modern dialysis machines, operating in three shifts.
Each centre will treat 100 patients a day, enabling around 600 patients weekly to receive three dialysis sessions. The civic body aims to reduce waiting periods and financial burden on kidney patients. Additional Commissioner Ganesh Shete reviewed the work on Monday and directed officials to expedite remaining construction.
The centres will have full-time nephrologists, dialysis technicians and nurses. Five beds at each centre will reserve for infectious disease patients, two for pregnant women and children, and two for PMC employees. Critical cases will be shifted to government hospitals via civic ambulance.
