Pawar Urges Drought Declaration and Loan Waiver for Maharashtra Farmers

NCP leader Sharad Pawar has called for an official drought declaration in Maharashtra and a loan waiver for farmers, citing severe damage from inadequate rainfall. According to Pawar, the deficient monsoon has damaged soybean, cotton, bajra, maize, tur, moong and urad crops across the state.
Pawar warned that the situation is likely to worsen, with anticipated shortages of drinking water and livestock fodder. The agricultural distress in the state underscores growing concerns over monsoon performance and its impact on crop yields.
