Pune BJP warns Rohit Pawar against backing MPSC bandh

The Pune BJP has warned NCP(SP) MLA Rohit Pawar against calling a bandh in support of ongoing MPSC (Maharashtra Public Service Commission) protests. Pawar, alongside MPSC aspirants, is demanding the resignation of MPSC chairman Vivek Bhimanwar. The NCP(SP) leader stated that if their demand is not met within two days, they would call a Pune bandh, halting all city activities as part of the protest.
Reacting to Pawar's statement, Pune Mayor Manjusha Nagpure and BJP leader Ganesh Bidkar issued a stark warning. "We warn those who will do it. We will come on streets against bandh to ensure normal life is not affected by citizens," they said. While acknowledging the democratic right to protest, Nagpure characterized the movement as "politically motivated," citing the participation of political leaders including MNS chief Raj Thackeray, Shiv Sena(UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, and Congress and NCP(SP) leaders. She urged MPSC aspirants to discuss their issues with the Maharashtra government rather than cause disruption to Pune citizens.
Nagpure noted that Chief Minister Devendra Fadanavis has already held discussions on MPSC aspirants' demands, arguing there was no justification for protests in Pune.
