Pune Man Booked For Using Fake Residence Certificate To Obtain Caste Certificate And Ration Card

Bund Garden police in Pune have registered a case against Dnyaneshwar Baban Shelke for allegedly preparing fake gram panchayat residence certificates and using forged documents to obtain a ration card and caste certificate. The suspect, a resident of Mahalunge in Mulshi taluka, allegedly used these fraudulent documents to avail benefits meant for government employees and welfare schemes.
The matter surfaced after the sarpanch of Koltawade Gram Panchayat in Ambegaon taluka filed a complaint stating that Shelke was not a resident of the village. Investigators found that Shelke had prepared forged 8-A land record extracts and used fake seals to create residence certificates. He allegedly used school and revenue records belonging to the sarpanch's family members to obtain a Scheduled Tribe caste validity certificate in March 2016.
The Scheduled Tribe Certificate Scrutiny Committee subsequently declared his caste claim invalid and ordered cancellation of the certificate. Police allege Shelke also created a fraudulent residence certificate bearing his wife's photograph with forged sarpanch signatures and seals.
