Pune Metro Line 3 Nears Launch: 23-km Route Connecting Hinjawadi and Shivajinagar

Pune Metro Line 3 has completed end-to-end trial runs across its 23-km elevated corridor linking Hinjawadi IT Park and Shivajinagar. The project is in its final stage before opening to passengers, pending statutory approvals.
The first phase will cover a 13.3-km stretch between Maan and RK Laxman Museum with 12 stations, expected to open by end of June. A second phase connecting Hinjawadi to Pune District Court is targeted for August 2026. The new line will use the existing Pune Metro ticketing system and app.
Once fully operational, travel time between Shivajinagar and Hinjawadi will reduce to around 45 minutes from current road journey of one and a half hours, benefiting IT professionals, students and daily commuters on the busy corridor.
