Pune Municipal Corporation Initiates Land Acquisition for Kharadi Road Project

The Pune Municipal Corporation has begun the land acquisition process for a road network connecting Sinhagad Road and Kharadi. The civic body expects the acquisition to be completed by November-end, following progress on an ongoing bridge project between the two areas.
The project involves acquiring approximately 9,700 square metres of land for two roads: a 36-metre Development Plan road from Kharadi towards Mahalakshmi Lawns and the proposed Javalkar Udyan, and a 30-metre road between Kharadi Ambedkar Chowk and Javalkar Udyan. The total estimated cost is ₹90.50 crore, with ₹27.14 crore already deposited.
PMC officials stated the road development will reduce traffic congestion in Kharadi and Vadgaon by providing an alternative route, easing travel between Sinhagad Road, Kharadi and Vadgaon areas. The District Collector has directed completion of the entire proposal by December-end.
