Harish Rawat defies Congress high command, continues Dhanyawad Yatra in Uttarakhand

Harish Rawat, a senior Congress leader in Uttarakhand, has continued with his 'Dhanyawad Yatra' despite directives from the party high command to suspend it. Congress general secretary and Uttarakhand in-charge Kumari Selja had written to Rawat on 1 October asking him to stall the yatra.
Rawat's decision to press ahead signals internal tensions within the Uttarakhand Congress unit. The move comes as a show of defiance against party leadership at a time when the party has been seeking unity in the state ahead of key political developments.
