Sharad Pawar called Uddhav Thackeray and asked him to teach the rebels a lesson.
A major split has occurred in the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) party in Maharashtra's politics. The party issued a three-line whip on Wednesday to take action against rebel MPs, and an urgent meeting was called on Thursday.
However, out of the party's 9 MPs, 6 remained absent from the meeting and only 3 attended. In this development, NCP chief Sharad Pawar has entered the picture. Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said that Pawar advised him to give the rebels appropriate punishment.
