17-Year-Old Dies During Ganesh Visarjan at Betul College; Family Blames Loud DJ Music
A 17-year-old student died after collapsing during a Ganesh idol immersion ceremony at JH College in Betul on Friday night. Pratiksha Verma, a first-year BSc student from Suhagpur Dhana, had attended the festivities with her younger sister when she suddenly felt dizzy and fell ill. She was rushed to the district hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.
Her family has alleged that extremely loud DJ music played during the ceremony may have triggered her health emergency. They have demanded action against the DJ operator and those who permitted the music. However, police and medical officials have not established a direct link between the noise and her death. The exact cause is awaited from post-mortem examination.
