Thane MPs Naresh Mhaske and Dr Shrikant Shinde Win Sansad Ratna Award for Second Year

Thane's Lok Sabha MPs Naresh Mhaske and Dr Shrikant Shinde were among 12 parliamentarians awarded the 16th Sansad Ratna Awards 2026 on Wednesday in New Delhi. Both MPs received the honour for the second consecutive year, recognising their parliamentary participation, interventions on public issues and contributions to legislative proceedings.

The awards were presented at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Bhavan in the presence of Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of State for Education Dr Sukanta Majumdar, former Chief Justice of India Justice B R Gavai and jury chairman Hansraj Ahir. Besides Mhaske and Shinde, ten other BJP MPs from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and Gujarat were also honoured.

Mhaske said the recognition reflected the support of Thane's people, party workers and supporters. He has raised issues concerning infrastructure, railways, urban development and housing in parliamentary proceedings.
