Thane Municipal Corporation To Recruit 3 Sports Officers To Strengthen Department

The Thane Municipal Corporation has announced plans to strengthen its sports department by creating three new administrative positions. Currently, a single Sports Officer manages the city's sports complexes, swimming pools, and talent development programmes, creating significant operational strain.

The proposal includes one Deputy Sports Officer and two Assistant Sports Officers. The Deputy Sports Officer will coordinate sports policies, financial planning, and supervise sports centers, while Assistant Sports Officers will oversee facility management, tournament organization, and athlete coordination. The administration will prioritize candidates with advanced degrees in physical education and sports sector experience.

The proposal awaits approval from the TMC General Body before being forwarded to the State Government.
