Thane Ring Metro Route Based on Technical Feasibility, Not Political Pressure: MahaMetro MD

MahaMetro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar addressed public concerns about the proposed Thane Ring Metro project at an interactive session organized by the Rotary Club of Thane. The event was attended by political party representatives, local activists, and residents.
Hardikar acknowledged that engaging Thane residents prior to project planning should have been prioritized, admitting to a communication lapse. He assured the public that with community support, the Ring Metro project would be completed within its designated timeframe. Regarding delays in Metro Lines 4 and 5, which have faced pushback over nearly a decade, Hardikar clarified that these lines fall outside MahaMetro's direct jurisdiction.
On route alignment concerns, particularly regarding areas such as Manormanagar and Azadnagar, Hardikar emphasized that decisions will be based strictly on technical feasibility, financial viability, and public interest rather than political considerations. The Thane Ring Metro will allow travel in both clockwise and anticlockwise directions, enabling passengers to choose the shorter route to their destination.
