Uttarakhand election body launches search for 8.27 lakh missing voters

The Election Commission has launched a special drive in Uttarakhand to locate and verify approximately 8.27 lakh voters who are registered but unaccounted for in the electoral database. The initiative involves setting up camps across the state and conducting door-to-door visits to identify these voters.
The discrepancy between registered voter numbers and actual verified rolls has prompted the EC to undertake this systematic verification process. Officials aim to update voter records and ensure accurate electoral rolls before upcoming elections in the state.
