17-Year-Old Student Miraculously Survives 70-Foot Car Plunge onto Railway Tracks in Navi Mumbai

A 17-year-old Class 12 student had a miraculous escape on Thursday when his Honda City plunged nearly 70 feet from Parsik Hill onto the Belapur-Uran railway tracks near CBD Belapur in Navi Mumbai around 3.30 pm. Chinmay Patil, a Ryan International School student, was found on the rear seat of the vehicle with minor injuries and is out of danger, though he remains in shock and unable to speak.
Police Inspector Lakhan Raskar said the boy was found alone in the vehicle with no eyewitnesses to the incident. The exact cause of the accident remains unknown pending Patil's statement. Police suspect Patil had purchased the second-hand car himself without his parents' knowledge, using his friend's Aadhaar card and identity documents to register the vehicle about four weeks ago. The friend was reportedly unaware his details had been used.
