Chaos at VVMC House Over Fixed-Pay Recruitment Plan As BJP, BVA Clash

Disorder broke out in the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) house during a session discussing bulk fixed-pay recruitment for departmental positions instead of contractual hiring. BJP corporators opposed the proposal, sparking fierce exchanges with Bahujan Vikas Ahadhi (BVA) members.

BJP corporator Mahesh Sarvankar claimed the former Municipal Commissioner had favoured certain individuals during appointments, while the Mayor rejected calls for staff removal. The confrontation intensified when BJP corporator Ganesh Patil approached the dais with aggressive language, prompting BVA corporators to rush forward. Security intervened to restore order as BVA members demanded action against the BJP corporator.
