Ziro Valley Hosts First Tribal Artisan Empanelment Mela to Promote Traditional Products

Ziro Valley in Arunachal Pradesh hosted its first Tribal Artisan Empanelment Mela on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. The event brought together local artisans, craftspeople and traditional product makers to showcase the region's rich cultural heritage and provide tribal artisans with opportunities to market their handmade goods.

The mela featured a diverse range of traditional handicrafts, handloom products and locally made goods, including indigenous weaving techniques, traditional designs and organic products. The initiative aims to promote tribal entrepreneurship and create stronger links between local artisans and wider markets.

The event follows Arunachal Pradesh's Food & Beverage Carnival held earlier in September, as the state continues efforts to promote its cultural and economic sectors through various platforms.
